Who or what do you consider to be the authority in your life? After many years of introspection I've come to the conclusion that my appreciation of what God had done for me was as flawed as a lot of other people I knew. It's funny how we pray for guidance and ask God to help us to achieve the goals that we have for ourselves without considering that He really is there as a witness to everything that we have ever done. How often have we been told that God is a part of us and that He is in the very heart of all that we are? Do we actually hear what we say? Do we understand that God is the energy that flows through our bodies and that this energy is what gives us life? How much do we need to know about what He is? How much importance do we place on who He is?
Is your God someone who you look up to? Is He someone you can rely on? Is He important in your life? Is He someone who you can talk to? Is He there when you need Him? Perhaps you need to ask yourself a few simple questions, are you someone people can look up to? Are you someone who can be relied on? Are you someone who can be important in someone else's life? Are you there when they need you?
I discovered when I reached the place I once called 'the other side' that I prayed regularly in private and I was in tune with many things that God provided guidance on, and I gave thanks for the many opportunities that I felt He'd led me to and through, but I placed too much importance on what people around me wanted from me and therefore sometimes they were the governance, the ordinance and the deliverance of things in my life that were not good for me.
God is a person in His own right and He gave me a mind of my own. A mind to think with and to discern with. In this way He gave me something of Himself, He gave me something that is an intrinsic and integral part of Himself that would help me to discover the Truth about who I really am to myself and to Him. I am Elvis Aron Presley, child and son of God, who was made to be a man. I am as important to Him as many who have gone before me to be leaders and example setters to the people they live among. I believe that we have a responsibility to be leaders and example setters to our own children just as God is to us. I believe that we all have an important role to play in the evolution of mankind. I also believe that we have a responsibility to ourselves and to our fellow men and to God to repay in kindness all that we have been given no matter how big or small that might be. So if you believe that your God has done nothing for you or that your God is never there when you need Him then perhaps you need to take a look at who you consider God to be! Maybe He's a God too don't really believe in!
Who is your God? He is a part of you! Take a look at yourself and ask Him what it is that keeps Him from revealing Himself to you!
Remember these words..."Seek and ye shall find!"
